Marischal College is one of the oldest colleges in Britain, founded in 1593, and the largest grey granite building in the world. It epitomises Aberdeen’s history and respect for great architecture. Marischal College now lends its name to a vibrant new leisure and business complex, Marishal Square.

This Aberdeen city centre development reflects the traditional styles of the College and the famous Provost Skene’s House, around which it is created. As well as 173,500 sq. ft.(16,119 sq m) of BREEAM Excellent, Grade A office accommodation over two buildings, the complex will house a 4-start Marriott, coffee shops, restaurants and a central vibrant public space.

The lighting control system comprises DALI fittings throughout and incorporates daylight linking throughout all areas of both buildings, in keeping with their A-rated energy certification. The whole network is controlled by the Lighting Controls Ltd. ecoLUX Graphical Interface utilising split tenancy controls and a total of 400 LCMs.

“I was very pleased with the overall service Lighting Controls Limited provided me with on this project. The Project Managers were supportive and accommodating for any changes that were required and I look forward to working with them in the future.”
